Welcome to the kids section of Passion Designs!!!!!! Here I will share with you great projects that you can do with your kids (from all ages). From simple art kits to do it yourself projects. I think it is very important to be able to sit down with your children, and encourage them creativity. With technology increasing daily and the way we act as a society, seems more generations of kids is losing the way to express them selves creativity. I have notice kids not understanding the concept of imagination, because in the world they live in their life involves a cellphone, a game controller, or endless hours online. Sometimes they become like robots not knowing any different, losing the hungrier for adventure . Kids spell "love" with "time" !!!!!!! So please stay tuned! This will help you brain storm. If you have any questions or needs help for a kids project let me know!!!!! I will truly be glad to help!!!!!!!

So go down to your local hardware store, (Lowes, HomeDepot). Buy a sheet of that blue insulation foam. Draw you a funky design. Here I did a funky town for my son. I painted it using water based acrylics. Easy, cheap and if you get bored just make another one without having to repaint walls etc.

Just came out of THOR 3D, I love this movie, just like the first Ironman (reality/military), a great balance of reality and the magicial world of Thor. Effects were great, costumes are the best ever. I good movie to start off Thor and a major push when it comes to the Avenger Movie. If your a true nerd dont pass up this movie, and ps ....... lol stay after the credits!

Give me the cube boyy!!!!!!! " Diorama

Time to roll out! Here is my Botcon 2009 Custom Contest Entry. I entered the diorama contest. I wanted to do something totally different, so I did a Marvel Legends Scale of the roof top scene with Sam and Megatron from the first movie. The building and claw is all made from foam. The whole model ways about 8 lbs. The building was carved out of blue insulation foam, trimmed out in molding and dollhouse size windows. The statues are re-sculpts of a 12'' Invisible woman , molded and casted. I tried to make my cast smooth but a few air bubbles just for the fact that the statues in the scene had some damage to them. The Sam figure is made out of a ML Logan Body, dremeled down, and resculpted with a hood. The head comes from a Kirk figure from the new Star Trek Movie. Like I said earlier the AKA Megatron arm is all made of foam with some plastic pieces glue to it. Now for some of you , I know the arm doesn't really look like Megatron's claw. I researched all over the net for a good picture of his arm/hand. But in almost every pic I found he had a different number of fingers or style of wrist etc so I kept it simple with the 3 finger claw just like the Leader Class Megatron.

Custom "META-XVR Machine" Diorama for SuperHumanExperiment Comics

So here is a cool diorama I did for an exciting comic book company " SuperHumanExperiment". I met up with awesome Amanda Stevens & Test Subject X and we got to brainstorming on ideas. It just so happen in their latest comic book issue they were showing for the first time the " META-XVR" machine. So I did a diorama showing off this a scene from the comic. I laugh at myself when I see these pictures, because this thing made up of so many parts and items. From a powered bottle, to G-force parts to earphone jacks. I used a basketball case to show off this diorama and I was able to etch into the glass their logo. It came out very cool! Overall I'm fine with this project, but I know I can do so much better.

After a ton emails, fans were calling for Zombie style MOTUC He-ro. So I changed him up a bit from the Zombie Style Heman. Recipe is Webstor's Body, He-ro's head with Scareglows mouth impressions. But this Zombie comes with a special item, his very own viewing globe. Just like Skeletor's one from the cartoon, well now He-bones has his own table top. Enjoy!

Custom Battle Armor Zombie He-man

Here is another Zombie He-man figure I did as a commission. The buyer an I wanted to do a different version of him. So I made a battle armor version. MOTUC He-man body with Merman's feet, and Faker's armor. I took some teeth cleaning picks and made some arm blades. Also as cool trick I sculpted boot straps around the feet to give a cool look of these zombie feet busting out of a some normal boots. I also added some additional texture to the armor and belt to give a different detail. I don't feel that the skullface was my best sculpting job, but the buyer was happy.

Here is a different kind of custom LOL. The "unknown soldier" from the 200X MOTU cartoon story-line. Simple custom overall, MOTUC He-man figure with bandages sculpted all over. Bandages were painted and wash in tans, white and gray. The legs were airbrushed. boots and loincloth were given neutral colors.I really like this custom for being something totally different.

Here is a commission I did for a fellow He-man fan (Fisto69). He supplied me with a custom Fisto sword, MOTU 200x mecha hand and Battle Fisto armor, a wrestler's head and a He-man MOTUC figure. I shaved down the wrestler's head resculpted it with Aves Apoxy sculpt beard and head ban. I'm not completely happy with the head band but I just kept it simple for now. I took the glove resculpted a concept between the classic and 200x design. Now the 200x armor didn't fit properly. So I cut it in half , glue down the majority of it and sculpted the rest around it. Overall I think it came out all right..

For anyone who was an 80's child like him or hate him, we grew up with one of the worlds best entertainers of all time. Some have came close but none have came close. It's like Micheal Jordan, you can talk about everyone from Koby to Shaq no one cane can touch what MJ did on the court. MJ challenged the world from music to way you shoot a music video. He is an Icon that can not be touch. Thiller Album was my first record. I will always remember the King of Pop. This for me is where it all started.

So me and wife last night went and catch the new Denzel movie. If you like suspense and fast action this is your movie. John Travolta truly can kick a bad guy!!!!!I truly enjoy it. So if you get a chance go check it out this week lol because next week its all about Transformers 2 "Revenge of the Fallen"!!!!!!!!! LOL So I go to Botcon in California hoping to see some stars Micheal Bay, Tyrese , Peter Cullen etc etc. To only come home (Houma, La) and find out that Megan Fox is right outside of my town here filming Jonah Hex.!!!!!! How cool is that. I'm now finding out also that they had some kind of casting call in April. Sucks!!!!! I could have been an extra. From what I'm hearing they are using an old plantation and a train here in South Louisiana to film some outside scenes. So always be aware you never know who will show up in your back yard.

This year was my first year attending Botcon! It was held in Pasadena Ca. It was my first time to Los Angleos. I met so many cool people attending this convention. NERDDDDDDDD!!!!! lol sorry inside joke. Anyway, the highlights of my trip were meeting Peter Cullen, the voice of Prime from the movie and the 80's cartoon. I also got autographs from writers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. I also got to meet Tyrese Gibson and saw Micheal Bay in the flesh at the Paramount Party. He talk to us for a little bit and show two super hot scenes from the new Transformer Movie " Revenge from the Fallen". These two scene totally beat the graphics in the whole first movie. Welcome to Passion Designs Blog! for News, Updates , Reviews and crazy thoughts. For starters this blogging thing is really new to me but it's like talking on the phone for me. Anyone who knows me I'm not a phone guy. My cell phone is not a religion for me LOL. I have tried blogging before on Live Journal, but it seem more like a hassle than fun. So I hoping this will be a new and fun way for me to express my ideas and concepts that I want to share. So please bare with me. So “here we …..go.”

So what's coming soon? you may ask. LOL alot! I'm on a thrill ride with ideas with the new MOTUC figures that have been coming out. If you don't know check out http://www.mattycollector.com/ for the new He-man figures. I'm working on a huge project for http://www.botcon.com/ this year. This will be my first trip to Botcon. So I'm super pumped. So if your going to be there, stop by and give me a shout. I'm finishing up on some MOTUC commissions right now, plus I have a hand full of stuff on my desk that is still in wip. After BOTCON, I'm hoping to get my TDK customs back in order and finished! BY the end of the summer you will see new and exciting things thru Passion Designs. I'm not looking to only custom action figures. Hopefully by the end of the year. You will see myself become true Freelance Artist from customs figures/dioramas, to prototype designer, visual/graphic art work. Anything I can get me hands creatively LOL.
